Historic Hempstead Plains - Nassau County, Long Island

A 90 degree Santini View from Front Street, panning to the East. (2000)

This park area contained Mitchel Field housing buildiings that were empty. They were removed in 1999. The Santini Hospital (New Cantonment) was just east of the white wood frame "T" building. This wood frame building appears on a 1954 map. Although it appears to have been extended / modified. This would mean that it is the only W.W.II vintage "T" building left on the Santini side of the base. Santini continues South behind me for another two(?) blocks. The housing to the left is Navy housing.
